It is estimated about 1 in 3 Americans suffer from stress either in their personal or professional relationships. For the most part, however, about 1 in 6 Americans suffer from stress in the the work place. Some of us experience stress more severely and more frequently than others. It all depends on how willing we are to cope with stress management in our own way. How willing are we to cope with stress either in the work place or in our personal relationships? Unfortunately, studies show most of us cope with stress poorly, especially at family gatherings during a Holiday season or birthdays. Why? What is the underlining reason to our stress? Each one of us experiences stress differently in our own way according to our circumstances we are forced to deal with despite, age, gender or culture differences.

Workers today in the work place seem to be less shy of wearing their emotions on their sleeves in comparison to a decade ago. What seems to be the underlining problem? High management turnover rate, downsizing and outsourcing of jobs to other countries around the world contributes to the high rate of office rage in the work place. Workers who have less power in the work place experience office rage on a higher scale than those with a higher power.

* 25-40% of workers experience job burn-out.
* 80% of workers are not happy with their job, thus feeling stressed out in relation to their specific job they hold.
* 59% suffer job insecurity
* 23% of workers have been driven to tears by other co-workers caused by bullying, provocation, manipulation, harassment and gossip in the work place.
* 42% reported yelling in the work place with relation to their job.
* 14% of workers have felt like striking at their co-worker.

How Does Stress Impact Our Health in the Work Place?

* 30% of workers complain of back pain.
* 20% of workers complain of fatigue
* 13% of workers complain of headaches.
* Over $300 billion a year is contributed to employee absenteeism in the work place, including job turner over rate.
