Chicago is magical during the Christmas Holidays - an exciting place to experience the Lights ... the Windows ...and watch the city glow. Holiday decoration shopping in Chicago is exciting as well. While there are many great places to purchase holiday decorations, my picks are from inexpensive to outrageous. A wide range of simple or elegant decorations.

Of course depending on your preference and budget, the absolute all around store in any town is Walmart. But for more unique and tradition building decorations, you have to get out and visit the smaller stores.

Winter holidays are big at this quaint, unique store. They extend their hours and transform the interior of the store, into a winter wonderland to sell lights, ornaments and anything remotely Christmas-y, like small rotating trees that light up. Thanksgiving also gets special attention here. This family-run store, a fitting tribute to the Spanish city the store is named for,is known for its beautiful gardens. Holidays enhance that Spanish beauty with the decor they employ.

Barnard, LTD

Chicago, IL 60610

From brilliant Christmas lights to artificial food looking good enough to eat, Barnard, Ltd. continues a Chicago tradition started in 1954. If you are looking for very reasonably priced decorations for Christmas, or any other holiday, this store provides all of that. Lights galore and more ornaments than you can count throughout the store. Excellent choice for value and variety.
