I interviewed a lady who has lived with an alcoholic for 20 years. She has never left him and he has never stopped drinking or gone for help. She would like to keep her identity anonymous as she feels people will judge her decisions and the choices she made. As soon as we sat down to start the interview before the first word her eyes started to tear. Maybe her life and experiences will give you an insight into what is it like to live with an alcoholic. She knows there are those who have it much worse and those whose lives have not crossed these types of roads, and may not be able to understand any part of it. Please listen to her story and you decide.

I was spread out on the bed with my eyes wide open as I saw the sun was just starting rise through the window. The birds were chirping and the light was a welcome sign that the night was coming to an end.
