I have always been a huge Matchbox Twenty fan, ever since there debut album in 1997 "Yourself or Someone Like you". The songs "Push", "3A.M" and "Real World" have always been favorites of mine. The album has sold over 12 million copies in the U.S and earned Diamond Status. Matchbox Twenty has sold over 37 million albums worldwide from the CD releases of "Mad Season", "Yourself or Someone like You" and "More Than you Think You Are.

In February of 2005, Rob Thomas went on to a solo career. His debut album became the U.S Billboard 200 #1 album, the first week of its release. Now Matchbox Twenty has come back together and released "Exile on Mainstream". The album was released October 2nd of 2007. The album has 6 new singles and 11 greatest hits tracks.

I have been listening to this album for a week now and I must admit once again Matchbox Twenty has made a total fan of me. "Exile on Mainstream was also released in the new MVI (Music Video Interactive) format. What this means is not only do you get the audio CD you also get a bonus DVD, which includes 2 video interviews in which Matchbox Twenty discusses the 6 new songs and the 11 greatest hits, plus you get extras such as a retrospective photo gallery, Nu-Myx where you can remix 'How Far We've Come', buddy icons and wallpapers, pictures of Matchbox Twenty members and more.

The 6 new tracks have a sound that is a little different from what I am use to when compared to such songs as "Unwell" and "Push", however I love the new twist to the sound. The songs have an up-tempo, retro, funk beat and I am really enjoying it. "How Far we've come" makes you remember the end of a relationship or think of the shape the world is in today. It does this though in an up-tempo way so it is not depressing at all.

I love the CD and having the greatest hits to also listen to just tops this CD off to being one that I will listen to often. Fans of Matchbox Twenty will be very pleased with having new music to listen too as well as the greatest hits. The MVI DVD is an added plus that makes purchasing "Exile on Mainstream" a must for all Matchbox Twenty fans.
