Each of the four gospels in the Bible tell us about the same period of time, Jesus' time on Earth. Some of the stories in the gospels are in all of them but others are only in one gospel. Since the all four gospels take place at the same place and the same time it might be hard to remember which story is in which gospel. These are the stories that only take place in Matthew.

The magi visit Jesus
In Matthew 2:1-12 the Bible tells us about the famous wise men we all know about. The magi are following the star in the east that will lead them to the birthplace of Jesus.

King Herod kills all the children
King Herod is also looking for Jesus but the magi trick Herod. Matthew is the only gospel in the Bible that tells the story of King Herod killing children. Herod then orders for all baby boys in Bethlehem to be killed in Matthew 2:13-23

Jesus heals two people
Jesus heals many people throughout the gospels of the Bible but Matthew is the only one that tells this story about healing two blind men. In Matthew 9:27-31 two blind men come before Jesus and ask to be healed. Jesus asks them if they believe he can heal them and because they have faith they are healed.

Jesus pays taxes
Matthew is the only gospel in the Bible that tells the story about Jesus paying taxes. In Matthew 17:24-27 the collectors in Capernaum approach Peter if Jesus pays taxes to which Peter replies, "Yes, he does."

The workers in the vineyard parable
The workers in the vineyard is a famous parable that only takes place in Matthew 20:1-16. A landowner hires five sets of workers, each group working later in the day. The groups that started earlier and worked longer expected to get paid more but every group was paid the same. The landowner tells the workers the last will be first and the first will be last. Our reward, eternity in heaven, is the same way. If you accept Christ when you are 5 years old and do the Lord's work for 80 years, you're not getting any special treatment over somebody that worked 1 year.
