Today marks the 302nd day of the year!
Here is what is going on today around the world:
1. United States:
*National Organization of Women Founded (NOW): NOW is an organization that started today in 1966 with the purpose to "to take action to bring women into full participation in the mainstream of American society now, exercising all privileges and responsibilities thereof in truly equal partnership with men."
*Hermit Day: Today is the day that many parents and busy business professionals have been seeking; it is a day of hermit-like behaviors. Basically, it is a day that everyone should take a vow of silence and getting away from the busy lifestyle that most people live today. If you are a hermit, well, that means today is the day to rejoice in your career choice.
*Stock market Crash: Today marks the devastating anniversary of the stock market crash in 1929 when cross-section stock prices declined and many portfolios hit rock bottom.
*National Frankenstein Day: According to google.com, this holiday is not a true national holiday that has been registered however it does hold stance on many websites and other written resources on holidays. Apparently this holiday was built upon the date being just before Halloween, therefore celebrating the creation of America's favorite character created by Mary Wollenstone Shelly. There is no mention in any resource how to celebrate the holiday however it might be fun to watch or read "Frankenstein".
