Big Sky Ski Resort is one of the best kept American ski secrets. This resort features one of the longest vertical drops that is served by a lift in the United States, as well as some of the best ski adventures in the world. Whether you are a beginner, an intermediate, advanced or expert level skier, you will find runs you will love.Andersite Runs
Andersite is an area of the Big Sky Ski Resort that is characterized by variety. Here you will find beginner level, intermediate level, advanced level and expert level ski runs. Beginners will want to focus on the Andersite runs near the bottom of this mountain. Intermediate skiers can work their way further up the mountain, and black diamond skiers will find a great variety of chutes, bowls and runs near the top of Andersite.
Beginners will find all of their run options on the front side of Andersite. For a top to bottom run you will want to try out the "Pacifier." If you are interested in testing your skiing skills a bit, then you will also want to try out the "Safari" run. If you are on the verge of being an intermediate skier but not quite there yet, then you can also try the easy intermediate level run called the "Hangman."
Intermediate skiers will enjoy runs on both the front and back side of Andersite. On the front side of the mountain you can try the "Blackfoot," "the Hangman" and "the Ambush Glade." If you want to get away from the crowds, then ski to the backside of the mountain and try out the "Elk Park Meadow," the "Elk Park Ridge" or the "Madison Avenue" runs.
Expert skiers are going to appreciate the variety of terrain and obstacles found on the black diamond runs found on Andersite. Single diamond runs include "the Blue Room," "Colter's Hell" and "Low Dog." All three of these runs offer a moderate slope with a generous glade skiing terrain.
