Due to concerns with unsafe levels of lead, on October 29, Factory Card & Party issued a recall of its "Ugly Teeth" Halloween Teeth, manufactured by Amscan Inc.

These Halloween teeth were originally purchased from JCS Hong King Limited, which is a subsidiary of Amscan Inc. Amscan Inc issued the original recall, concerning potential lead contamination earlier in the day on October 29th.

Not only was this product sold by Factory Card & Party Outlet stores, but it was also sold at many other stores around the United States.

If you have this product, immediately stop using it and return it to Factory Card & Party for a full refund. The UPC on this product is 0-48419-65002-7. It is located on the back of the package, directly underneath the bar code.

The product is being recalled as a precautionary measure, due to test results uncovered by a chemistry professor at Ashland University in Ohio. The methods used and the results of this test have not been re-examined by anyone as of yet. However, the company has recalled the products anyway, out of precaution for the consumer.

Factory Card & Party has removed all "Ugly Teeth" Halloween teeth from its shelves and did so immediately. The product is also no longer available on the Factory Card website. Notices have been placed in stores and the UPC code has been removed from memory in cash registers, so that the product cannot be purchased. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has also been notified of the recall.

Gary Rada, who is president at Factory Card & Party said this: "Since learning about this potential risk to our customers just this morning, we have mobilized all of our resources in order to get the word out about this recall as quickly as possible. We take responsibility for the safety of our customers very seriously and are working with our stores, supplier and the media to help ensure that we reach those who purchased this product."

Just too many things being recalled nowadays, who can keep track?

Thanks Eclectic. My girls are girly girls as well. The girls went as a fairy princess, a gypsy, and Tinkerbell (all homemade).

I hate those teeth anyway. Thank God my girls are girly girls and don't go for things like that. Great report!

Oh wow Jacques! I had no idea about the cars. They might be full of lead paint and possibly safety dangers. What a frightening thought.

Perhaps the time has come to take China out of the commercial loop. Starting by boycotting the Olympics would be good. Their products are too dangerous to allow into the rest of the world. Also frightening: America is getting ready to sell Chinese cars here. If they don't care about the simple things, how bad will their cars be?

This is so scary-I'm almost afraid to buy my granddaughters anything these days-it is so hard to find anything like this that is not made in China. Thanks for the info.
