The Camel Cigarette Company has recently unveiled plans to redesign the packages of Camel Lights. This is not a bad idea, as changing the look of a product is some times helpful to sales. However the plans also include changing the blend of Camel Cigarettes. I am slightly skeptical of this. I have smoked Camel Lights for over fourteen years now. The flavor and blend of Camel Lights is why I smoke this brand. I am concerned that the new blend of Lights will be so different that I am forced to switch brands.

Cigarettes are hot right now because of the Anti- Tobacco movement. Some people have nothing better to do than gripe, and no one in America remembers to mind their own business. Smokers feel like they are being discriminated against, and they are. Is Camel switching blends in hopes of attracting new customers? Or is it something more sinister? Will the new blend of Camel be more addicting if possible? Are the folks at Camel hoping their customers will not be able to resist this new blend because of addictive additives?

Who cares? I will continue to smoke for as long as I feel like it. In fact there is no way I will quit now. I won't let big brother win this one over me. I absolutely hate how strangers take it upon themselves to lecture smokers. I hate the ignorant standonline.org commercials. I am amazed that this organization spends so much money to bad mouth the tobacco industry. I am amazed that we care for the health of people we do not know. It is pretty funny actually. Alcohol is so much more dangerous than cigarettes. As a country we are prepared to wipe tobacco out of our culture. Forget that our country is basically founded on tobacco. Who cares if tobacco farming is a way of life for some many hard working Americans?

the new (real) not filter, light nor pussy flavor taste like shit , the tobacco falls out of the paper, the ash falls into your lap, won't stay lit, is loosley packed and in general is a product of money grubbing assholes who don't give a shit about quality or their customers . I am ashamed of you people.

i agree with everyone. I've been smoking camel filters for like three years and then they started changing them. Now whenever i see the new packages i choose to buy marlboro reds over them. Thank god i found a carton of the old camel filters but i won't be buying camel filters because of the retarded change

Awful, just awful. How could RJR do this to me? I thought my life was over when they took French Toast Crunch (The original one) off the shelf, and now this? I can't smoke Marbs, I can't smoke Camels... Filters were my favorite vice. Bastards! :-(

The truth is, the new blend of Camels is just cheaper for them to make. That's it. It's a cheaper blend, with who knows what in it that makes it different, but the truth is that it's more profitable for them to sell these rather than the old ones. It's a pure business move. Sucks, considering that the original Camels are in my opinion the best cigarettes out there, but I guess the only way to make them bring it back is for enough people to stop smoking the new blend for them to realize that this move isn't profitable at all.

I HATE CAMELS NOW!! I started smoking the 99's when I was 18, moved to Florida where I couldn't find them so I settled for 100's. When I moved back to NV and saw my 99's on the shelf they instantly became my normal brand again. Now I have been store hopping for any pack of "old Camels" I can find. Old stale Camels are better then the new ones. I'm probably going to quit..real soon since I will not buy the new blend!

I have to agree with everyone else. I had been smoking Camel Lights for over 3 years I would even refuse other cigarettes, I only liked Camels, then they changed them and it made me sick, like actually ill. I ended up getting bronchitis so I quit smoking them and switched to Marlboro 27's but being a true Camel Lights smoker, switched back a few weeks later and ended up getting bronchitis again. The taste is a whole different issue, I thought they tasted horrible but more importantly I can't believe that they actually made me sick. I've heard a lot of people say the same thing and I heard that if you call the number on the side of the box to complain and they receive enough calls of people complaining they'll switch back, but that's just what some gas station attendant told me, and of course I haven't called. I just know that a lot of people who smoked Camels before have now switched away from the brand or quit and I don't understand how their sales haven't declined enough for them to

Here is a hint. If you want people to acknowledge your post and actually be able to read it........USE PUNCTUATION! It's not so hard really, try it.

i hate to break it but it's at least the filters and lights, given i've seen them on the promo posters in stores. the menthols have the redesigned package also but not sure about them. i would guess they might have changed them too. it sucks.

Please, PLEASE, tell me its only the lights that got reformulated. I know they redisigned all the packages, but I'm still smoking the old ones because thats what I had left. I have smoked the lights before and there is nothing wrong with them, though with all the fuss I doubt I'd bother trying the new ones.

I've smoke Camel Lights for years. I tried the new ones and immediately thought AWFUL. Very bad taste, aftertaste and like someone else said, made my throat hurt. However i attributed the sore throat to sinuses given the time of the year. But i was able to continue to get the older ones at my fave local stores. Then i bought the new ones again..same thing. my throat is killing me. There has to be some heavy duty chemical additives in those things. Luckily i found a few older packs today, told the person at the counter the new ones are just no good. He very intensely said "yes, all my customers are saying the same thing. please, call them and complain!". i tried that but they give you only two menu choices. Then it supposedly redirected me to talk to someone and was on hold forever. The only smokes i've found that are close are Parliament LIghts. Cost a little more but are a good alternative. Does anyone remember receiving a promo thing in the mail, asking for votes for the new pa

How about you give me your home number so I can call you and tell you how much I HATE these things everytime I want to have REAL camel and can't.
