Don't Be Afraid to Enter Contests, You Could Win!

I love Aerosmith. I was raised on their music and my mom had taken me to see them in concert several times over the years. I eventually joined the fan club so I would have access to concert ticket pre-sales.

On Christmas Eve in 2005, I was bored at work and noticed that Aeroforce One was hosting a contest. Nominate who you think deserves to win 4 tickets to see Aerosmith. I knew I had to nominate my mom. Not only for opening my eyes to their music, but I thought she deserved recognition for her efforts in helping rescue stray and abused dogs.

So I wrote up a quick little nomination, not thinking that my essay would be chosen.

I went on vacation right after Christmas, and upon my return I saw the email notifying me that my essay was chosen and I won 4 tickets to see Aerosmith and Lenny Kravitz in Atlanta, and we were to get passes for a pre-concert party.

And what made it even sweeter was, I was at my mother's house when I saw the email. I was in shock! I started screaming, she ran over to see what had me in an uproar. Then she started screaming! All we had to do was wait the 3 weeks for the show. I do believe it was the longest 3 weeks of my life. We decided to make our own Aerosmith T-shirts for the concert, so that helped keep us busy.

Fast forward to that fateful night. We get to the arena and pay $10 to park. We go to Will Call so we can claim the tickets. The fan club escorted us inside and we were taken to the party. Food was served and it was an open bar. BONUS! Several contests were held for Aerosmith merchandise, which we were lucky enough to win a poster AND a baseball cap! We were on cloud nine!

Time to go to our seats. I must admit, that we were disappointed with our seats. We thought our seats would be on the concert floor, however we were seated in the arena section. They were decent seats, but we wanted to be closer!

My mom and I had gotten up to go to the restroom and upon our return a gentleman in front of us told us that security had been out in the audience searching for people to be pulled up to the stage. ARGH! We missed it.
