President Ahmadinejad remains defiant, having said on more than one occasion that nothing will deter Iran from pursuing its nuclear program, which he maintains is for peaceful energy purposes in one breath and in the next boasts that Israel will one day be wiped off the face of the earth.Condolezza Rice has accused the Iranian Revolutionary Guard of being proliferators of weapons of mass destruction and it's elite al-Quds force of supporting terrorism particularly in Iraq and Afghanistan.Al quds is a direct reference to the city of Jerusalem, which is one of the holiest sites in Islam and referenced by Muslim militant groups . They are a secretive highly effective core of the Iranian military operation, entrusted with only the most high level and sensitive operations. They have been described to be " the bad guys who have American blood on their hands", and have been involved in numerous terrorist actions and has been providing sophisticated roadside bombs that are the biggest killer of U.S. troops in Iraq. Qassim Suleimani is thought to be their current leader. The unit is thought to be very much a part of the Iranian government, and the Iranian President Ahmadinejad is known to be very close to the al Quds force.
