Once you feel comfortable on the ice start planning expeditions to smaller mountain ranges such as Cho Oyu located in Nepal. You are now well on your way to Mt. Everest.

Another hurdle you will have to overcome on your journey to Mt Everest is funding the expedition. The permit alone will cost you $10,000 and the total trip will be approximately $25,000. Luckily, there are several ways you can raise these funds without having to sell all of your personal possessions.

Sponsorship is one solution. This will more likely work for you if you are in some way a first. If you can separate yourself from some way from everyone else who has already climbed Mt. Everest then most likely you will be able to find a company to cover the costs of your trip.

Another great way to cover the costs of your trip is to allow a broadcast network to follow and film you on your climb of Mt. Everest. If you are an artistic individual you can also sell photographs you took of Mt. Everest.
