If your budget is tight you might feel that you cannot afford entertainment for yourself. Entertaining yourself doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg, however. Here are ten ideas on how to entertain yourself, all for $10 or less.

Go to a movie. One movie ticket usually costs around $6.50, give or take a little. You should have enough left over from a ten dollar bill to also buy a small drink and possibly popcorn. See the latest flick you've been dying to see. Some specialty theaters will also show older movies which may be cheaper on the wallet.

Visit a thrift store or flea market. Visit your local thrift stores or flea markets for cheap entertainment and to pick you up a little something. Make a game out of trying to find something for you, your home, or a gift for under $10. Many thrift stores carry low cost secondhand items for purchase. Flea markets are fun to just browse. You can use your $10 to buy refreshments while browsing the different booths.

Host a wine tasting. You can find some cheap wines for $10 or less a bottle. Buy one bottle yourself and ask friends to do the same. Have everyone bring their bottle to your home for a wine tasting at your house. Some inexpensive wines can actually taste pretty good. You can cover the labels of each bottle for your tasting so that there will be no bias. Assign a number or a letter to each different bottle of wine and hand out score cards with each letter or number on them. Reveal which wine is which so that everyone can see which wine is their favorite.

Visit a used book store. Take a visit to your local used book store. If you have any books that you have already read that are still in good condition you can trade them in for credit towards another book. If trading in books, you can most likely get away with spending $5 or less on a book, leaving enough for you to grab a cup of coffee or tea at the book store's cafe.
