Holidays are such an important part of each countries tradition along with supporting its culture. Some of the most popular holidays on earth either revolve around the Christian belief such as Easter and Christmas however there are other popular ones such as Independence Day, New Year Day, and Valentines and so on. Then there are strange and weird holidays that really have no meaning besides the mere purpose to have an excuse to celebrate something. Have you ever wondered what is going on around the world today?

Today marks the 304th day of the year!

Here is what is going on today around the world:
1. United States:
*Halloween: Copying the Celtic Pagan festival called Samhain, Halloween or Hallowe'en.

*All Hallows Eve: Tonight is the Eve of All Saints Day. See tomorrow's description of All Hallows Day/All Saints Day.

*National Magic Day: Amazingly, today is the anniversary of the Hungarian American professional magician officially born as Ehrich Weisz but well known under the name Harry Houdini. Although many people believed from a few of his interviews that he was from Wisconsin however he was in fact born in Hungary.

*Increase Your Psychic Powers Day: This holiday is stated to have started in England near the 1900's and moved on to other countries being that it is a great Halloween festivity. It is popular to test and increase your psychic powers today.

*Juliette Lowe's Birthday: Founding Girl Scouts in 1912, Juliette Lowe's Birthday is now celebrated by all Girl Scout and Brownies. She was born in 1860.

*Beggar's Night: This is basically the same holiday as Halloween - it is the begging of children for candy or else...

*National Knock-Knock Day: Unfortunately I could not find the origin of this holiday. It is a holiday that allows those of you whom are jokers to go out and have some fun without shame. Go ahead - tell your knock-knock jokes!

*Trick or Treat Night: Same as Halloween only it is known as the celebration of just going around trick-or-treating.
*Admission Day (Nevada): Today marks the date in history that Nevada officially joined the Union in 1864 as the 36th state.

That is why America is so great. Because everybody else's holidays sound so boring, lol. So do we have our current Halloween because All Hallows Eve and Beggar's Night were incorporated? Great article as always.
