It is always good to try out new things, and modernize your traditions. For example, you do not have to go far to find something new. Sometimes something new can be an old tradition that no one has seen in this day and age. Why leave dressing up in costumes for Halloween? There has been many times when families had costume parties. Imagine having the same Thanksgiving experienced by the Native American and Pilgrims. It would be fun for children to dress up again. Parties like these can be done by people in your jobs and their families, churches, organizations, clubs, families and friends.

It is a day to be thankful, and grateful for even the smallest of things. It is terrific time to spend with very close friends. What ever way you choose to spend the holiday do it with all of your heart. You can consider using decorations that was typical for the time of the pilgrims and Native Americans. For example, you can decorate your home With a Native American cedar flute, hand drum, peace pipe, or dance stick rattle. The pilgrim items you can have as decoration are peach blow art glass, furniture, dishes made of wood, pewter or delft.

Thanksgiving is a time between the autumn and winter when the leaves turn new colors, and fall off the tree. Sometimes the weather may bring you snow during thanksgiving. Nevertheless, it is the season for pumpkin pie and turkey. Keep the pumpkin part of Halloween in the back of your mind. The pumpkin will no longer need a scary carving or smile. It can just be used for the season of thanksgiving as a decoration.
