Academy of Art Univeristy's Online School is Great for Film and Graphics Majors

Online Universities are constantly expanding and becoming a common way to attend college and get degrees. There are popular schools like the University of Phoenix, but one of the unknown schools is the Academy of Art University based out of San Francisco, California.

The Academy of Art University (AAU) is exactly what the name says, an art school. They have many different majors including Photography, Computer Graphics, Motion Pictures & Television, and Fine Arts. All of the majors are broken down in specific categories too, like for example, a Motion Pictures & Television major can focus on Directing, Acting, Cinematography, Screenwriting, or special effects. There are a lot of specific options for each major, but if a student is not sure what exact field they might like to go into they can just focus on the general classes until the student is ready to decide.

The class set-up is very simple. Once you are signed up from one to five classes, you will receive your own user account to log into the website. Once logged in there will be a personal profile you create, and links to each of your classes. Each link leads straight to the syllabus for each particular class.

Classes at AAU are split up into "modules", which basically runs for a week, from Tuesday until Monday. Every module for each class has assignments, reading material, and a short multiple choice quiz that consists of five to ten questions.

With the classroom out of the picture there needs to be another way for the students and teacher to interact. This is available through the AAU discussion boards. Every class has its own discussion board and almost every week there will be a new discussion topic to post and reply to.

All of the majors at Academy Art University are media oriented so many of the classes come with supplemental CD-ROMs received through the mail. These CDs feature video clips, Adobe PDFs, and material useful for the classes.
