If you're wondering what to get the cook in your family for Christmas, look no further. I've compiled a list of cookbooks that will suit many different interests and styles of cooking. If you pay attention to the food your home chef cooks and other things that tickle their fancy, such as their favorite foods/cuisines/condiments, Food Network host, etc., then you'll be able to pick out the perfect cookbook for them.

The Joy of Cooking is one of those essential cookbooks that has every recipe, technique, advice and bit of information about classic American cooking. The 75th anniversary addition includes all the old classics plus some thing things such as a chapter on nutrition and more "family-friendly" meals.

The All-New Complete CookingLight cookbook is perfect for someone who wants to keep things light yet delicious. This book is more than just a compilation of over 1000 recipes from the incredible magazine. It teaches techniques and tips on how to lighten meals, wine pairing ideas, incredible recipes and desserts and lots of glossy pictures to showcase their delightful recipes.

Giada's Family Dinners is a cookbook for someone who either loves Italian food or wants to learn more about it. Giada DeLaurentis is a popular Food Network celebrity chef and her recipes are delicious and easy to follow. The recipes are meant to be cooked and served family style and take the guess work out of creating a great meal with minimal fuss.

Better Homes and Gardens Snack Attack is a cookbook for the budding child chef, or kids who just like to help out in the kitchen and want to learn about food. There are recipes for after school snacks, road trips, parties and more. It's a great way for kids to learn more about cooking, help out in the kitchen and get them to eat their veggies!

Nigella Express is the newest cookbook by Nigella Lawson. She has a show on the Food Network with the same name and the cookbook is based upon recipes that can be prepared quickly yet taste as if they've taken hours of preparation and cooking. You can be sure they're good as Nigella has a stellar reputation as the hostest with the mostest. She's not hard to look at, either.
