Some people feel obedience and faith are in opposition, but in reality they are not on polar opposites. Faith leads to obedience. Law and faith coexist, for when you have faith in God and have a love relationship with Him, the law takes care of itself as you begin to do what is right and what is good, as well as what God asks you to do.

The law is only there for lawbreakers. Even people with faith sometimes find themselves up against the law as they struggle with sin and self. So, the law is our faithful reminder that we are not God and we must depend on God to remain in a faith/love relationship and obey His words.

The walk of faith takes us into all kinds of territories to see what we're made of. We may struggle with finances and be tested to make money the wrong way or to steal, gamble and find other manners of money making that go against what God would have us do. Faith and obedience must come into play not only when life is easy, but when life is tough.

No matter your struggle with self and sin, faith and obedience are what you're called to. You are not alone, for when God lives within, He is your obedience. He is your faith. Christ in you, the hope of glory helps you to live out the life God would have you life.

None of us are there yet, but we must continue our walk of faith and obedience and truly the best way to do that is to focus on a relationship with God. Don't look at your lacks, your failures and shortcomings. Look to Jesus and what He has done for you. Study the life of Christ. No, you're not perfect in yourself, but you are perfect in Christ. Claim it and live it by faith.

The Place of Soul

As our faith grows, we begin to understand that inside us all is a place of soul; that is to say a place where we find freedom in our spirits; a place where there is truth, wonder, peace, value and all things artistic and meaningful. For some, this place is blocked, walled up and can't be reached. Such people experience nothing but stress, day in and day out. But for those who refuse to close themselves off from their souls, such people experience depth, light, and true living.
