Justine Henin was Just as Good as Roger Federer in 2007

Any mention of tennis dominance usually leads people to bring up a discussion about Roger Federer and who can blame them? Federer has won three out of the last four Australian Open Championships, four US Open Championships in a row and five Wimbledon Championships
in a row. Federer will likely break the record for most men's singles titles.

Meanwhile Justine Henin is having just as good a season as Roger Federer, maybe an even more dominant season.

Justine Henin is having a great season and is the leader in the WTA Rankings despite a rough start. Justine Henin completely missed the Australian Open at the beginning of the season because of her divorce, which is why she shortened her name from Justine Henin-Hardenne to Justine Henin. At the time Justine Henin would lose her number one ranking to Maria Sharapova but she would get it back pretty quickly.

After losing in the semi-finals in her first tournament in 2007 Justine Henin rebounded with two singles titles and regained her number one ranking in mid March.

A the Sony Ericsson Open Finals, Justine Henin won the first set 6 - 0 and had another match point in the second set but Serena Williams came from behind to hand Henin her second loss of the year. The win by Serena had many thinking she was about to have a huge comeback but Justine Henin got revenge at the French Open where she won the Championship for the third consecutive year.

Justine Henin suffered a small hiccup at Wimbledon when she lost in the semi-finals at Wimbledon. Justine Henin got on a roll after Wimbledon though and at the US Open she beat her first four opponents in straight sets. Justine Henin then beat Serena Williams for the third time in a row in a major. Then Justine Henin took out her big sister Venus and in the Finals beat Svetlana Kuznetsova.

Justine Henin continued her roll. On October 9th Justine Henin clinched the #1 ranking for the rest of the year and Henin never lost another match.
