Christmas is a time of year to spend with the people you love, catch up with family and friends, and celebrate whatever meaning, whether religious or not, the day brings to you. Christmas is also an increasingly popular time of year to get married. No longer is being the "June Bride" the most coveted wedding event. Being a Christmas bride is now the best time of year to get married. But how do you go about it? Traditionally summer weddings have been the most popular and there is far more information out there on how to plan a summer wedding rather than a winter or Christmas wedding. I will give you some tips for planning a perfect Christmas themed winter wedding. All you need is a little Christmas cheer and the partner of your dreams.

One of the most important aspects to consider when planning a Christmas wedding is the timing. Because it is a time of year when people want to spend time with their families and a time when many families take vacations it is important to let the people you really want to be at the wedding know way ahead of time so they can plan accordingly. A new trend that has become increasingly popular, and not just for busy times of the year, are "save the dates". These are like precursors to the wedding invitations that simply tell your guests that you will be getting married and the date and time. This allows your guests to plan ahead and keep the date of your wedding open. This is especially important around the holidays as everyone has parties and family get togethers to go to.

Now if you really want to go with a Christmas theme then you should already have a color scheme. Depending on your bridal party and the colors they look best in, red or green would be perfect bridesmaids dress colors. You can even have the vests of your groomsmen be the opposite color of your bridesmaid's dresses. You can add gold or silver to spice up and make your color scheme more elegant. Since it is winter, you may want to choose dresses with a shawl or get gloves for the bridesmaids to help with the cold weather.
