One of the most popular shows for pre-school students and toddlers is the Nick Jr. show Dora the Explorer. Kids follow Dora and her best friend Boots on many different adventures, teaching counting, colors, and even Spanish. More popular than the show are Dora the Explorer toys and here is a guide to some of the best Dora the Explorer toys to buy this Christmas.

Dora's Interactive Adventure Studio: Dora the Explorer is interactive on its own, with pauses left in for kids to answer questions and solve puzzles, but this new toy brings the kids even more involved. Using a DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) like mat, kids follow Dora's directions onto which numbers to step on, and even have their own set of maracas to help move to the music. This is a great toy for a group of friends to all play on.

Dora Mermaid Adventure Dolls: Dora's first big movie, Dora's Dance Party was a success and it was inevitable before another special came out, and this one is called Dora Saves the Mermaids. Before the movie even premieres, kids can get their hands on various mermaid dolls to recreate scenes from the movie. Some of the ones available are Mermaid Dora and Mermaid Baby Twins.

Talking Friendship Adventure Dora: Kids love to pretend to be Dora, but with this life-size doll, they can now play with her. It is a little pricey at around a hundred dollars, but it has interactive features like speaking and playing music. They now just need a life-size Boots to go with it.

Dora's Let Get Ready Vanity: Dora does not have too many hair-styling or make-up episodes, but kids can do her hair with this new vanity. A Dora head sits on the vanity and it comes with child-safe tools like scissors, combs, hairdryer, and a huge mirror. Decorated with bright flashy colors, this is perfect toy for a child's playroom.

Dora's Dress-Up Trunk: A good companion to the vanity is Dora's dress-up trunk. Not only can they style Dora's hair with the vanity, but they can dress like her too. The trunk comes with shoes, a dress, and other accessories, and will be able to hold other dress up clothes that a child owns.

Takeaways
  • Dora Saves The Mermaids is now available on DVD at many stores.
  • For boys, check out Dora's cousin, Diego.
