Opposing teams watching game tape of the Lake Dallas Falcons may tell them who plays for them in what positions, but it will rarely tell them what plays they are going to run on Friday night. That's because head coach Mike Young changes the offensive scheme every week. Last week's plays may be discarded in favor of new ones, and formations will be different. The team motto for this season is "Leave No Doubt." That only applies to after the game. Before it, the competition has nothing but doubts as to whether their preparation has been of any use.

Coach Young's game philosophy is simple. "We take a business approach to it," he says. That means a focused, mental preparation for the team, who waits until game day before they let their emotions overtake them. It's a winning formula, and Young is quick to spread the credit.

"We have four key leaders, two on offense and two on defense. (Senior quarterback) Chase Baine and (senior running back) Justin Hill on one side and (senior linebacker) Colby McQuillin and (junior defensive lineman) Issac Tauaefa on the other. Chase and Justin just seem to get their names in the papers more. Issac has had a great year. The interceptions we get on defense start with the fact that he is getting pressure on the quarterback."

The attention on Chase and Justin is probably because they anchor one of the best offenses in the area. If you were to look at the area rushing leaders in 4A, you will find Justin near the top. Surprisingly, you will find Chase not too far behind on the list, one of the few quarterbacks to rank among the top rushers. Chase is no slouch at passing, in case you are wondering. You'll also find him among the area passing leaders as well.
