You're probably thinking about all the delectable and succulent foods you are going to devour over the next couple of months. You're afraid you are going to spread and all your clothes will be too tight. This fear is beginning to set in and it's not even Thanksgiving yet. Stop! Do not think this way.

Tell me something. What have you been doing to keep on track prior to the season? Have you been overindulging all year? If you are having this fear then your goals and motivation is not strong enough. In order to get through the season you must be completely ready. Your goals must be strong enough to prohibit you from overindulging. You have to get your mind ready. So many people give up and fail this time of year. Wouldn't you want to be the person to get on the scale after Christmas and say, hey I dropped 4lbs?

If you worry and have fear about gaining weight and eating too much food, it will happen. It will happen because you are constantly telling yourself, "I'm going to eat too much food and gain weight." You are programming your mind for this to happen. You are burning this phrase in your mind.

I'm quite sure you are sitting there thinking that I am off my rockers. What I am saying is completely true. When you constantly think about something negative long enough it usually happens. Instead of having fear about the season you should tell yourself you will not overindulge. Tell yourself you will enjoy the season without condemning yourself and without gaining weight. You must learn to control yourself.

It is very important that you keep your goals in mind and know what you are striving for. You have to sacrifice and talk to yourself if you can't control yourself. This is why it is important to have strategies when it comes to eating when you're trying to lose weight.

The holidays don't have to be the enemy because you started a lifestyle change program. Don't you dare say I will start my plan up again after January 1st. Don't you dare! Learn to say, "No I've had enough. I don't need to put another piece of food in my mouth." If you get all this stuff down to a science, your holiday season will be a breeze.
