Some of the great things about contact paper include the fact that it's cheap, it sticks to most surfaces, it comes in many colors and designs, and it's useful for more than just lining cabinets. Yep, there's lots of things you can do with contact paper and some of them aren't even indoors! For example, did you know you can share thoughts, wishes and happy times with your community by using contact paper on your vehicle?Contact paper has changed somewhat over the years. Not only is there now a huge variety of patterns and colors, but it's much easier to peel away than it was years ago. In the past, contact paper could be difficult to remove from a surface after it had been there for awhile, but now, most adhesive paper peels easily away when you no longer need it.
Using contact paper and stencils, you can make lettering, numbers - even punctuation. That makes it easy to share announcements and other news with your neighbors and others. Cut out lettering to spell "It's A Girl!" or "Merry Christmas". There's no end to the sayings you can make.
Peel and stick the lettering on the back window of your car. This way, you can let others know about new births, deaths ("In loving memory of..."), or celebrate various holidays. The lettering can be cut to the size you wish, but you won't want to make them huge, since you won't want to hinder your view.
It's not absolutely necessary that you place the lettering or sayings on the back window. Cut lettering to spell the model of your car and stick the letters across the very top of the windshield. If you're putting them on the windshield measure the amount of space you have without allowing the letters to block your view.
You don't have to limit yourself to letters, numbers, dollar signs, and punctuation. You can make shapes as well. Footballs, hearts, shamrocks, candy canes, pumpkins and other designs can be made, and enhanced by the type of design on the paper you choose. Solid colors of red or orange would work well for hearts and pumpkins, whereas other designs can be used to make the shape of a fish, or another object.
