This week, Duane "Dog" Chapman - also known as Dog the Bounty Hunter - and his son Tucker had two telephone conversations in which "Dog" used the "n-word" several times. In what appears to be a successful attempt to get back at his dad, Tucker subsequently sold the taped conversations to a media tabloid, which made the private conversations public, posting them online.

Although "Dog" has issued a public apology, has taken full responsibility for his regrettable language and has many people rushing to his defense - or at least offering excuses for why he talked to his son the way he did - advertisers are not ready to let "Dog" off the hook that easily.

In a Nov. 3 press release, Wayne Perry, president of SiCap Industries, said the company wanted to launch their 2008 television spots on A&E, particularly on the "Dog The Bounty Hunter" program. But not any longer. Perry said that Chapman "was a hero of mine until I heard a tape of him spewing racist remarks as if it meant nothing. I'm disgusted by him. He used the (N-word) multiple times in the most hateful way you could ever imagine. That's when I decided to dump his show from our marketing plans." SiCap Industries makes Sinus Buster capsaicin nasal sprays.

The press release also says that Yum! Brands, Inc., parent company of several brands, including KFC, Long John Silver's, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, has also pulled their ads, referring to Dog the Bounty Hunter's remarks as "despicable."

Numerous radio and television stations have release the taped conversations - or at least the most newsworthy portions in which "Dog" directs racial epithets toward Tucker's girlfriend, who is black.

So glad he is off the air. He is a fake, he didn't even hunt Luster, read the truth here: http://www.costacustodio.com/bounty.htm Two people who rented Luster a room hunted him, and when they spotted him, they had to follow him for 2 and a half hours so Dog could DO HIS HAIR AND PUT ON HIS COSTUME. It was all for the cameras, he is a FAKE. And a racist.

I had several Native American friends post the story that he and his youngest son were misbehaving at a Pow Wow in Hawaii. I don't know if it is true or not, but most of the Indian community believe it and don't like it at all. I think its all just very sad. In this day and age we shouldn't have things like this happen but we still do. Great informative article though. Thank you for reporting.

sometimes we open are mouths before we realize what has actually came out of it i think in this world people deserve second chances and he is intitled to one we have all done said something at one point in time in are lives that we wish we could take back the key word is forgiveness and move forward with are lives i am a black person and yes the word was offensive but there is a thing called forgiveness this is not a witch hunt as children of god put it in his hands and he will do the rest let go and let god

The so-called famous N-word is used about 5 billion times a day in public alone,e.g: The black comedians us it in all their shows and being black is in no way a Authorization for you to use the N-word,yes it is used in anger,it's also used as a greeting by the brothers, and in basic BS talk on every campus in the nation.I don't like the N-word just like everyone else, but thats not going to stop people (Blacks Especially) from using the word.

Duanne's trembling lip, sucking in of breathe and humility on the Larry King Show wasn't put on. He looks like a man who is on the verge of a nervous breakdown. If I can see that, I hope the experts can. I wish our good Dr. Phil hadn't made so much out of Duanne not appearing on his show. I think Chapman is just so sick over what he's done it was just too much for him to appear on another show so soon. I've said terrible things in anger, have you?

To Jim Johnson-What Dog said was wrong. It was said in private and he will have to deal with it. But you have no room to talk. I read and re-read your post and can't balieve how tasteless YOU are. If all you can do is name call-even calling his CHILDREN names then what kind of person does that make you? I'm thinking you're the crab at the bottom of the barrel and you see your chance to climb on someone elses back/mistakes to elevate yourself. Guess what? It doesn't work. Ignorant and tasteless looks the same no matter what color it is.

Dog will always be a hero for taking down criminals. He has black friends and was not using the word as a racial slur. He put Andrew Luster and many other parasites behind bars. What he said was disgraceful, but he should be forgiven for all the good he has done for average Americans.

I'm still glad Dog and his posse' went after Andrew Luster when no one else had to the guts to defy the Mexican officials. Luster is scum and deserved to be in prison for what he did instead of lounging around in a Mexican bar. What Dog said was wrong, but what Tucker did was wrong too.

I can't believe that he was set up by his own son! Were his racial comments shameful? Yes. Was this a private conversation? Yes. How many of us would burn in hell for the things we say outside of the public ear? Betrayal for profit. Unimaginable.

I thought he was so holy than thou, and for him to let that word come out of his mouth was vicious to all human race. He pretended like he was a God fearing man, but what he showed America was that he was just the devil in discuise. A&E should have pulled his show off the air. Thank you Tucker for showing America what your father really is :)

Yes we have all made mistakes but it is pretty bad, knowing what we know about history, to express such a slur over and over. It is not just another slur but it reflects the worst and most destructive aspect of American history. Slavery, lynchings, whippings, sharecropping, family separations, intimidation. Anyone with any decency does not spit out these various slurs, in public or private, when angry or when joking, never.

Can't we all just get along? Dog's mouth is bigger than Beth's boobs and what he said was wrong. The biggest tragedy about this whole silly mess is that a son would do this to his father. Why isn't anyone condemning Tucker for his sneaky actions? Let's all focus on Dog because he said the N word. Tucker is the real villain here and probably deserved a tongue-lashing -- minus the racial hate. Margaret

We're white and can't stomach this slop hog family. Only idiots watch Dog, his Hog and their piglets. They have no business on A&E. They belong on Jerry Springer, in Dr. Phil's haus, or she on The Biggest Loser, and he answering 1-900-man2man calls for men who prefer men that dress up like women. All Dog needs is his Swine's make-up. Dog already looks prettier than his sow (or cow)with her jewelry in his hair (what's that about?) even without stretching up his Basset hound face. They come across as tasteless, gawdy, racist pigs and looks like they've proved themselves!!

We've all said things in the privacy of our own homes that we are not proud of. But as long as we don't voice our thoughts in public and don't act on our ignorance we should not be judged for this. Who out there can honestly say that they have not thought or said something racist or hurtful weather it be about color, size, gender etc. I know i can't.
