Graceland is a beautiful house, with white columns at the front, set in gorgeous grounds. It is all I expected and so much more.

We stayed in a hotel, on Elvis Presley Boulevard, opposite and a little to the left of the house. Next was a road, gas station, and the Graceland Plaza. This is where you purchased the tickets.

The first time I visited the house, both Len and I wanted to go. It was mid-morning and we bought a ticket for the house, the car museum, the planes, and the Elvis museum.

There was a line for the shuttle bus, which took us across the road, to those wrought iron gates. White with the amazing Elvis outlined in black, equipped with guitar, and the black musical notes. We were given headsets and a recording to listen to as our guide for the tour. We would be able to switch it on and off as we came to each room.

Crossing that road and entering the grounds of Graceland took my breath away. I am a true fan of Elvis. One of my regrets in life, was that he never visited England. We had to wait in front of the front door until the bus load in front of us had started to move along.

As we went into Graceland and turned left here was the Dining Room. The large 8-foot dining table dominated the room. A chandelier above really depicted the Elvis era. On one side a cabinet containing beautiful silverware and another to the right. I could just imagine Elvis hanging out with the guys and eating his peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

The Living Room looked really spacious and should off the huge15-foot long sofa and 2 matching armchairs. Incredible stained glass peacocks divided the room, and just beyond them a baby grand piano. To the right a fireplace and a gold sundial clock. The beige carpeting and ceiling created a comfortable look.

We just got back last week from a trip to Memphis and my daughter did the Graceland tour . We go to Memphis a lot and I did the tour once and it was enough for me. Nice but nothing I care to repeat over and over like her. But she is a big Elvis fan :-)

Interesting! I've never really had any interest in visiting Graceland though as I'm not an Elvis fan. Sophie

Good review! I never had much interest in Graceland when I was younger but I think it would be worth a visit - oddly I don't remember Elvis much but remember exactly where I was when he died.

I have a friend who have been there several times. She says you never grow tired of it.

I visited there a while back. I was really surprised how much vandalism has been done to the walls and gate. It's kind of sad - but everyone wanted a piece of Elvis history, I guess. Great article.
