Coming of age amidst the Eastern sphere
Aglow in the luminous dials of fate-
While listening - a whisper, a rumbling of fear
Flows from the horizon and swings wide the gate.
Wiser? Smarter? No doubt older by far,
Digesting mixed tenses that blend in the wind-
The raven and sparrow have ceased making war
Since waking at moon rise with tail feathers pinned.
Coming of age ankle deep in the tide,
Away from the vacuum of glitter and light-
Confiding dark secrets while spirits abide
Under foot, under stones, under-visioned by sight.
Coming of age with insidious health-
Creeping on clam shells with shivering stealth.

Very cool stuff; I really like the line "the raven and sparrow have ceased making war," that sort of says it all in reference to coming of age.
