Whether you have a good sleeping baby or a not so good sleeper, your baby can be helped to sleep great. By using some of even all of these helpful tips. Some of these can even help create a womb like comfort for the baby.

A crib is a great modern invention. Early many babies may not like being laid smack in the middle of it great big mattress. Some babies may seem uncomfortable, so you could try a bassinet or a cradle. For extra comfort and security you can also swaddle your baby or use a baby sleeping bag.

Being too warm or too cold can disturb baby's sleep. Also, rocking, swaying, or patting can help contribute to the baby's sleep. These will also keep the baby more content. Sleeping without sound can also keep the baby awake. You can try a fan, music, or a baby soother that imitates a heartbeat.

Babies are more likely to sleep better in a room of their own. Not because they are bothered by you being there, but because you are more likely to pick them up or disturb them. Unless, you can keep yourself from disturbing them or waking them up unnecessarily they should be put in their own room if possible. You should, however, be close enough to be able to hear them when they wake up or cry. You can also use a baby monitor for this reason.

Also, it is never to early to begin a routine. You could start off with a warm bath, followed by dressing your baby in night clothes, then a little story or song. These can be soothing for most babies. For babies who still can't fall asleep this way try feeding them as a last resort. If this way works to get your little one to doze off then feeding can happen earlier in the routine.

Some parents think trying to keep the baby awake during the day will solve the night time sleeping problems. A well rested baby will sleep much better than an over tired baby. If you have a little one who still can't sleep well at night after using all of these tips. I have found it helpful to use the lavender scented bath wash and lotions. The scent seems to relax the baby and calm them down for a better night's rest. Hopefully, at least one if not all of these will work for you and your baby.
