Much of the media that we listen to comes in the form of a simple disc. This disc like object allows us to play many different types of media. Most of us associate the disc with our music (Cd's) and our movies (DVD's). Discs remain popular despite the growing trend of mp3 players and other smaller devices. Even though they remain popular, many people become aggravated with how easy it is to ruin a disc. A simple scratch can ruin the disc and make it so that your music and movies can no longer be played. We allow our emotion of anger to get the best of us and throw the disc away. It is time to stop doing just that! Believe it or not, there is a way to save your disc and get rid of that scratch.

A simple Google search will show a variety of different techniques to repair your disc. A lot of these techniques require you having to purchase several items. By the time you actually repair your disc, it would have been cheaper to go out to the store and buy a new one. I used to be one of those people who seemed to always scratch his discs. Upset at the fact, I decided to experiment one day to see if I could repair the disc myself. I discovered a cheap and incredibly simple way to fix those annoying little scratches.

Next time you have a disc that is skipping, take it out of the media player and run it to your bathroom. Yes, you read that right. Grab the skipping disc and bring it into your bathroom. What you will need to grab is a q-tip and a tube of toothpaste. You will squirt a dime sized amount of the toothpaste onto the bottom of the disc (the side that is always scratched). Try to get the toothpaste on the scratched areas of the disc. You will then take the q-tip and rub the toothpaste around the entire surface of the disc. This will need to be done until the entire bottom is covered.

The next step is to grab a washcloth. You will lightly damp the cloth and clean the toothpaste off the disc. This can take a couple minutes. It is a must that you do this as smoothly as possible. If you are rough while taking the toothpaste off, you could re-scratch the disc and would have to repeat the process all over again.
