Amusing but slight, done in by Amy Poehler's failure to capture Hilary. The Obama part was priceless, though.
Score: 6
Monologue
Brian Williams was pretty funny here. His bit where there is a news graphic that shows up while he says "That all changes!" made me laugh out loud.
Score: 8
Maybelline Commercial
Fred Armisen in makeup. Scary. Very scary. Not sure what the point of the commercial was, except to fill time.
Score: 3
Bronx Beat
Hey Lorne, can we get rid of the silly public access show spoofs? Not a lot of laughs here.
Score: 4
Principal Jeffries
An actual funny sketch. Hooray. Brian Williams does a good job of playing a washed up actor, trying to get over the pain of having to let go of a Saved by the Bell Type Sketch. The ending was a bit stupid, though.
Score: 7
Publisher's Clearing House
Kristen Wiig is overdoing it a bit, and Brian's doing it just right, looking a bit like a psycho killer as he reacts with silence to the winning of $15 million dollars. His reaction to the free cheesy bread is quite funny. Good premise, almost undone by Wiig's overacting.
Score: 8
SNL Digital Short -- Day in the Life of Brian Williams
Funny self parody. Watching Brian Williams drop a penny off 30 Rock at Matt Lauer and Al Roker was priceless.
Score: 9
Feist
Lipsync?
Score: 5
Weekend Update
Funnier than normal, but where was Brian Williams? Wouldn't that have made a bit of sense?
Score: 7
Larry King
It should be so easy to parody Larry King, and yet this was just a dumb excuse to do some Harry Potter material that fell flat. Worst sketch of the night.
Score: 2
I-Phone
A creative use for the i-phone, no doubt. Nice parody of the Apple commercials.
Score: 8
Debate
Wow, did the audience leave during the sketch? Some of it was funny, but I get the sense not a single person in the audience knew anything about the candidates. Without Obama or Hilary, the sketch loses the people that the audience knows.
Score: 5
Feist
Patty Smith called. She wants her act back.
Score: 4
Nightly News Theme
The boardroom part wasn't that funny, but the Brian as 007 intro was quite amusing. Funnier than most last sketches.
Score 7
