The biggest event in Virginia Beach, Virginia for Christmas lights is the holiday lights at the beach. The boardwalk in Virginia Beach is full of activities and lights that will light up everyone's face with enjoyment and excitement. McDonald's sponsors the event and the community comes together to help decorate the beach with millions of lights. The holiday lights at the beach starts around November 17, 2007 and runs through January 1, 2008. There is a fee for vehicles to drive the boardwalk and costs around $10 per car.

Another great event is the 100 mile of lights that runs from along the east coast from Newport News to Virginia Beach.

I suggest trying one of the local restaurants while you're planning to drive through the Christmas Light display in Virginia Beach. All the shops in the area will be having sales and the restaurants will be having your favorite Christmas dishes prepared for you and your family to enjoy.

The Christmas light display at Virginia Beach is beautiful and really blends in well with the ocean as a background to catch the Christmas light display in full effect. The weather is cool in the evening and I'd suggest bringing a jacket and dressing the children warm for the festive activities.

If you really want to enjoy the lights in style you can rent a limousine to drive you and your family throughout the area to see the amazing light display. The people that fix the lights create animals and other items out of lights that are bright and colored.

I'd suggest planning your trip and prepare for traffic to be slow all through the area during the Christmas light display. However, you can park all throughout Virginia Beach and walk around with the family to see the lights. There will be many vendors on the boardwalk selling Christmas theme products and memorabilia related to the Christmas Lights at the Beach.

There will be music groups singing Christmas songs and will encourage families to participate bringing in the Christmas season. All the activities throughout the Virginia Beach area are reasonably priced.

Interesting topic. When I use to live in that part of the country I loved going to Virginia Beach during the off-season. Too cold for swimming, but there's some great stuff around the area. I have had many good weekends at Four Sails and ate more than my share of saltwater taffy.
