Alaska Airline travels to all major cities in the United States and even in some other smaller cities. This carrier service started out as a small in-state air transport and has grown to be one of the largest in the U.S. and the only airline to offer jet service that travels to and from Alaska. Any traveler who is planning to take a pleasurable nature adventure to this vast state will find it very easy to get tickets or reservation whole-year round. There are other smaller airlines available to provide domestic air transportation for those eager to try getting into the rural beauty of this state.

Being a vast land, it is a common sight to see small planes or bush planes used as air taxi in transporting local residents here. Any tourist can avail of such air taxis to go on sightseeing by the air to view the naturally land and water resources from a bird's perspective. Many in-state carriers fly with 18- to 40-seat prop planes to go to larger rural communities. Eight to 10-seater planes, on the other hand can fly into smaller villages and airports.

Chartered planes or air taxis are also available in tour packages and even fishing trips can be done with the use these aircrafts. Smaller planes like a bush plane with a single engine can easily touchdown even on water because it is equipped with floats aside from the wheel. It allows not just wild life viewers to go in remote areas but also fly fishers simply because these type planes make use of a river, a lake or even a glacier in the icy parts of Alaska, as its runway in landing and take off.
