Do you believe in ghosts? Apparitions and paranormal activity is reported every day in every corner of the world; here are the stories of seven locations in Montana that have had their share of the unexplained.

Lewis and Clark County, Helena, Montana

At the Kleinschmidt House, the apparitions of Mary Kleinschmidt and her son have been seen many times in various parts of the house. Also reported here are a few presences that are unseen but felt, disembodied footsteps and the sounds of a child playing.

At the Grandstreet Theatre, patrons and staff have reported light footsteps throughout the building, the feeling of a gentle presence, and lights turning on and off on their own.

Park County, Pray, Montana

At the Chico Hot Springs Lodge and Ranch, guests and employees have made reports of a "Lady in White." This apparition has been spotted hovering in the third floor lounge, the lobby and room 349. Most who have seen this specter say that only the upper part of her body was visible and that she lingered for several minutes, starring at them. Some other claims made here include a rocking chair that consistently turns itself toward a window and a Bible that resides in the attic, always open and never collecting dust.

Powell County, Deer Lodge, Montana

At the Old Montana State Prison, visitors have claimed to hear phantom footsteps, disembodied voices and cell doors opening and closing. Many people who have visited the solitary confinement area, have reported that they were shoved from behind by a presence that was unseen but definitely felt.

Silver Bow County, Butte, Montana

At the old fire station in Butte, Montana, many have made reports of fire alarms going off for no reason, books being thrown across the rooms by unseen hands and various apparitions roaming about.

In the Silver Bow County Courthouse, located in Butte, many have claimed to see the apparition of a long dead miner roaming about the building and the grounds. This miner was apparently convicted of killing a man and he was sentenced to death by hanging in 1906.
