Smoking is a habit. Even though medicines can help, as can patches, gums, and support, smoking is a very hard and nasty habit to break. Anyone who is quitting can tell you that anything that will help is worth a try. Hard candy can help.
How can a piece of candy help one may wonder. Here's how. Despite any other aids being used smokers will still get some cravings. When a craving strikes a smoker is tempted to light up. They want one. They know they are quitting but the addiction is still present and very difficult to break. When the smoker who is quitting is equipped with a pocket full of hard candy they have a weapon against those nasty cravings when they strike.
I know it seems odd but it does actually work. Why? How? I think it's because when a craving strikes it's a want, a need, a desire, an urge to smoke a cigarette. It's a need for something. A cigarette is a thing. A thing that provides a satisfaction to it's user.
Quitting smokers will get cravings, severe ones in the first weeks. When their cravings strike they will seek the satisfying thing. Although a smoker may not be able to have the thing that they really want, the cigarette, they can still provide their cravings with a thing that gives satisfaction.
Hard candy tastes remarkably delicious. There are so many kinds to choose from. Go to the grocery store and purchase a few bags. You'll need to know you have a good supply for this to work. Get the types and flavors that are the very most satisfying to your personal tastes.
