Home Remedies to Remove Green Tint from Blonde Hair Caused by Swimming Pool Water

Green Isn't from Chlorine

Blondes who enjoy swimming on a regular basis know the ravages of pool water. People with blonde hair who spend a lot of time in the pool sometimes end up with green tinted hair, and green certainly isn't a popular hair color. Those who want to avoid having green
tinted hair are forced to wear a swimming cap or stay out of the pool.

What can be done to remove the green tint caused by hard metals in pool water? Are there home remedies that effectively remove the green tint? Fortunately, there are a few home remedies for removing green stains from blonde hair. These remedies have been used by swimmers, and many have found these remedies very effective.

The following home remedies will help you remove green stains from your blonde hair, or the blonde hair of a friend or loved one. Begin with the easiest method first, and continue trying the following methods until you find a home remedy to easily and effectively remove the green tint caused by swimming pool water.

Before Trying Home Remedies

If you have sensitive skin, use caution when applying home remedies such as the home remedies listed here. Test a small area of the skin to check for an allergic reaction or skin sensitivity.

Aspirin

Aspirin is good for more than pain relief and clot prevention. Aspirin is also used to remove green stains from blonde hair. Simply place eight regular aspirins in a glass of warm water, and allow them to dissolve. Saturate the hair with the aspirin and water, and after approximately fifteen minutes, rinse away the aspirin along with the green tint. Wash and condition the hair as usual.

Tomato Juice

Tomato juice is said to effectively remove green coloring from blonde hair, leaving it shiny and very manageable. The acid in the tomato juice helps remove the undesirable color. Simply pour about 8 ounces of tomato juice into a plastic cup, and take it into the shower. Before washing, saturate the hair with tomato juice, and allow it to remain on the hair for several minutes. Thoroughly rinse out the juice, and wash and condition the hair as usual.

My daughter went to a friends house on Saturday and go in the hot tub, when she got out, showered and dried her hair, she noticed that it had turned green. She then went back and washed it several more times, it was still green. She came home showed it to me, and I got on the computer to find out how to get the green out. I must say I first tried the lemon juice, what I had, was about a half of cup and it did take out most of the green. I then used the tomato juice and it took out the remainder. I am sure if I had more lemon juice, that would of done the trick. Thanks for informing of the home remedy, it was a lot cheaper then having to go to the hair salon to have it removed. I have a comment for Amarylls, It doesn't matter how much you pay for hair color, chances are your hair will still turn green. I paid over a $100 to have my daughters hair done, and it still turned green.
