New Ben Stein Documentary 'Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed' to Push Intelligent Design and Question Darwinism
any scientist who wishes to explore the possibility of, "intelligent design," as an alternative to Darwin's theory of evolution.

For those of you that do not remember back to the old school days, I will take a moment to remind you about what Darwin taught.

In 1859, Charles Darwin published his work, On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life (Commonly called The Origin of Species). The book explained that the world had been taught the wrong ideal for years as to how humans came to Earth. He explained the course of evolution and let the world know about how we evolved from apes.

While this theory has been debated for years by scientists, and religious, evolution has been predominately taught in schools and universities. The majority of the members of the scientific community has scoffed at the other two theories of creationism and, "intelligent design," for decades.

"Intelligent design," takes both creationism and evolution into consideration and blends them into a congruent theory. "Intelligent design," teaches that evolution did happen, but it was guided by a higher source then just happenstance. It explains that God must have guided evolution to eventually lead to where we are now, or where we will be eventually in the future.

In the upcoming documentary, Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed, Ben Stein will be looking into the reasons why the theory of, "intelligent design," has been ignored for so long by the majority of the scientific community. Stein will be looking into different cases in which professors have been harassed by universities for teaching the alternative theory of, "intelligent design."

So Intelligent Design doesn't have anything to do with the identity of the Intelligent Designer. I guess the Big Bang Theory doesn't have anything to do with the Big Banger. But then, it doesn't try to. In fact its a theory that puts together a process for how something did happen, whereas ID is only concerned with what didn't happen - namely, evolution. ID doesn't bother with any process that did happen - namely, how some intellect suddenly created everything or how it just guided evolution along. There's kind of a big gap there between these two ideas of what did happen that's seems an open issue in ID. So as Theories go, it really doesn't do much for explaining things. On the other hand, the BB Theory explains what DID happen every few billionths of a second. Let's face it - ID just wants you to go and find the rest of the story in an anti-evolution church of your choice. Hmmm - I wonder who that could be? And what general political outlook they have that might fund institutes and e

I happen to believe evolution is the method God used. It's in line with the idea of no length of time to apply to the first day, the fact that time does not exist in God's realm, ie; billions of years leading up to mankind and perhaps that it is or is not intelligent. Perhaps just started and left to grow like a Petri dish. As far as fact and science, please, one of you geniuses tell me with 100% certainty that it was lightning that fused the first amino acids, or was it a primordial soup? Maybe it was an entombed sea monkey in huge piece of space stuff that came to Earth. If you are so certain it is fact, then you must answer my interrogatory here with the correct answer and only the correct answer. If you can not, then there might be a God, there might be evolution, and there might be a methane breathing, gold-pooping quandomonkey living on the planet Rebulon and he doesn't need water to live.

Lastly, I want to comment on how people think that evolution is not able to be tested, when in fact it is tested everyday in scientific labs across the world using microorganisms that rapidly evolve because they replicate thousands of times in a day, (unlike Humans for those of you that dont know, it takes 9 months to produce just 1). For instance, lets just take oh I don't know...HIV for example, one of the major reasons this virus is so deadly is that it is constantly evolving thus almost impossible to come up with a single treatment for the virus, because it evolves to become immune after being exposed to a single drug thats why HIV/AIDS drug "cocktails" are most effective because few viral cells will have genetic mutations to be immune to all 4-5 drugs. There is your tested evidence for evolution, although it is in microorganisms, it apply across the board, because believe it or not we even share about 33% of our genome with baker's yeast.

This is not a case of freedom of speech its just bad science, just like any "evidence" that leans toward intelligent design. This kind of thinking is archaic and at best illogical. This is how medieval scientists explained phenomenon that could not be explained by their research. Take lightning for example, people believed that God was magically sending fire from the sky down to earth, then along came modern science and explained that static electricity build-up in the clouds forms lightning. Any scientists claiming that Zues,God, Poseidon, or name your god of choice, was throwing lightning down on us would be shunned by the scientific community, just like Creationists and intelligent design theorists should be in today's scientific world.

Any scientist that claims that they have evidence that leans toward the "intelligent" design theory is in a sense claiming that "My data and evidence can form no conclusion that can be backed up by current scientific knowledge, so therefore an intelligent designer must be at work" aka, "Science can not currently explain it, therefore God did it" When their real conclusion should be "Further studies need to be conducted to make a conclusion based on our experimental data" then this data needs to be PEER REVIEWED AND REPLICABLE by independent research groups to be considered for publication and acceptance in the scientific community. This is where Ben Stein gets confused with freedom of speech. For example, any scientist could claim that they have found the cure for breast cancer, but after being reviewed and the experiments are incapable of being replicated, this "science" is thrown to the curb. When what really all they did was add formaldehyde (or something of the like) to a cancer

This movie was very informative about the way some scientists that believe in God are being treated by the education and science communities. It was much better than the Al Gore movie about global warming, yet it didn't even get a 2 star rating on the pay for view channel. I appreciate Mr. Stein's effort to inform the public about the closed mindedness of these two communities to not even allow discussion or inquiry about intelligent design. What about academic freedom?

The review reads: " "Intelligent design," teaches that evolution did happen, but it was guided by a higher source then just happenstance..." Evolution through Natural Selection is NOT HAPPENSTANCE! Read "The God Delusion" by richard dawkins

We die because someone had lost contact with him? That's the exact thinking that has ruined many lives before us, including slavery, yes, christianity LOVES slavery.

This "debate" is actually a war, and if science were not broken the war would not be happening. There are plenty of reasonable people on both sides, except when it comes to this debate. Those who ask, or demand, facts to back up the idea of design of the natural world are not seeking out such facts. I already posted the site where my findings are introduced, and you can do a google search on my full name. I am a physicist. If you won't confront the evidence, then you cannot judge--period, end of that discussion. Arguing beliefs is pointless, as should have been obvious long ago in this ongoing "debate." I don't argue beliefs, I give the facts and expect other scientists, at least, to hear them and judge properly for themselves. Then they should, if they're competent, admit that the Earth and solar system were deliberately re-formed according to a design, a design that is at the very heart of every ancient religious tradition, every myth, every megalithic monument to a lost past
