Heavenly Sword Walkthrough Part 4: The Puzzle of the Gongs

Nariko has just used a Real-Time Event in Heavenly Sword to scale a rope and you should now be standing on a large pillar facing several enemies. Use counter attacks followed by powerful speedy combos to knock the soldiers down to the levels below you. Once you've finished knocking down all the soldiers, head for the rope and press the X Button that'll results in a new sequence.

You've just triggered the pillars to all collapse to tap the X Button as fast you can to hop down to the ground level. A wave of angry soldiers will come running in using two different types of attacks in Heavenly Sword, power and ranged. Use your counters to defeat as many foes as you can and some more will come barreling through the door. Destroy every last one of them and this area is finished, so head through the door.

While you're running down the heavily defended bridge, you'll soon learn that there are a ton of archers shooting arrows at you. So, if you're smart, you'll deflect these by holding the L1 Button down and attacking when the arrows are near Nariko. Once you reach the archers, begin returning the favor in Heavenly Sword with counters and hard combos and you'll soon reach the final three where you'll need to use mixed combos to defeat them. Pound the red pot to open it and walk around the path of the mountain to go to the next section.

It's time for your first real puzzle and this one is located inside the Banquet Hall. In order to open the massive double doors, you're going to need to ring both of the gongs simultaneously. Look for the wooden contraption next to the bottom of the stairs and go to the ladder to climb it to the top. Up here you'll find a crate containing several items in Heavenly Sword, so pick one up and make your way back to standing in front of the gongs. This part may take a few tries, but throw your item into the first gong using the after touch effect, and control the item after it deflects into the second gong.
