Pregnancy does so many things to our body. It isn't as simple as just having a baby. Pregnancy can affect so many thing right down to skin changes. Here you will find listed some of the common skin changes found in pregnant women. A pregnant woman probably won't experience all of them and possibly won't experience any of them.

The Mask of Pregnancy is a fairly common. It is a brownish patch that you may develop on your face and neck. It is caused by skin pigmentation changing during pregnancy. The best thing you can do to prevent the spots from getting dark is to avoid direct sunlight.

A very common skin change is the Linea Nigra, which is the brown line that runs from you belly button down your belly. Don't ask me. Like I said it is a strange world being pregnant. I didn't have it with one of my children and the other I did. It was very light and went away. So don't worry that you'll have a brown line running down your belly forever. It should go away or fade so light that most won't see it.

Palmer Erythema is when the palms of your hands and soles of your feet have a reddish hue. This is due to hormone levels in your body and will disappear after delivery.

The lovely spider veins. I think these were named after spiders because most women hate spiders and spider veins. Hormone levels and increased blood volume are to blame. I'd like to say they'll go away and you'll never see them again after pregnancy but I can't. You can get these on your arms and face as well as your thighs. I survived pregnancy without them but now are getting them on my thighs.

Skin Tags are tiny polyps that occur in areas where the skin rubs against clothing. You can also get them on the neck and bra line. They may disappear. You can have a dermatologist remove them but your insurance may not cover it.

Let's not forget the lovely stretch marks. Where you gain too much weight is the target areas. Your thighs, butt, stomach and breasts are all targets. The best defense you have is to not gain too much weight but even then there is just no guarantee. Stretch marks will appear as red streaks and then fade to a silvery color. Please do not waste your money on creams it is a waste of money.
