Reminiscing, dreaming, picking at your brain's contents.... I don't think any of us can get enough of it. While Adams strums hard through the clenching chords of this candid classic, the story he tells from a youthful perspective can effortlessly jog your memory and quickly automate your good tapping foot.

The story of the adolescent troubadour and his rock n roll climb up the collective mountains of liberty, sounds intriguing doesn't it? Of course it does, but by now there are about half a thousand more recorded tales of rockers in their gritty-but-glorious paths to relative mainstream success and while some do have their own positives I could write and rant about, this Bryan Adams tune will hold it's own up against ANY song without uncertainty.

The lyrics of Summer of 69' have always struck me in awe, called me out during routine, and forced me into a daze of nostalgia (Every time! let me tell ya.). This type of description is really the mood of the song. Adams captures a glimpse of some inner thoughts of a demographic, young people. Lines like "that summer seemed to last forever"' or "those were the best days of my life" the catchy ending hook of the song, are played visually to the listener, jumping from summer to summer, in your head.

Lets stop imagining and start listening and remembering! Yes! Please go and play this beauty promptly and remember, it's over two decades old and still played more than most songs! That my friend, is a sign of a "playlist worthy" track, go ahead (don't worry), add it to itunes. You can thank me later, in another life maybe.
