Download Free Text Editing Software from AbiWord

You want to be able to use a program exactly like Microsoft Word text editing software but you can't get over the fact that they charge way too much for the service. You're sure that it's a great program but what can you do about it? There is now a free Microsoft Word like program called Abiword. I know, it doesn't sound like it would be quite the same level of program, what with the free to hundreds of dollars price comparison but wait until you read about and then on your own see, all the remarkable features it has.

To download the free Abiword software goes to www.Abisource.com. They will offer you the chance to download the newest version that they have available. It should be noted that the software does not come with a note that it is "Microsoft Word's Free Cousin" but they look surprisingly similar. Don't worry the download is safe, I have used Abiword on multiple computers and have found it to be an invaluable source. I have two computers, my main one which has internet access and a very old laptop that does not have internet access or much of anything. I downloaded AbiWord to that computer and have used it successfully and find it easy to transfer the files. Just remember that when it gives you the save as type make it a .doc or .rtf file and do not save it as a .abi file, nobody else in the world has AbiWord and therefore cannot open that type of file.

The tools that the AbiWord uses are almost exactly the same as that of Microsoft Word, it has the same saving capabilities and allows you to save in the .rtf for transfer between most document editing programs and .doc, the most common extension because of Microsoft. It also offers the chance to save in .html if you want to make a web page. There are lots of benefits to both of these programs, the least of which is easier control on Microsoft Word, more regular spacing makes Microsoft Word more pleasing to the eye when typing but essentially they are the same. Also, Microsoft's Word has a much better spell checker for suggestions but both recognize misspelled words.
