Boys, Men and Female Baggage

My marriage went bad years before it ended. It has been ten years since the split and we are still friends and on speaking terms. That is not to say pain and anger doesn't sometimes slide into civil conversations. That is all I need to say about that.

For a long time I did the dating thing. I signed up with dating sites that had very creative titles like "Black meet Black", or "Love in all the Right Places", and even "Me on You" ( Okay, by then it had been awhile!).

I can't say my experiences were particularly good. I scanned pretty faces, shapely bodies and bubbly personalities. I even found myself reacting like a middle aged (which I wasn't), lonely (which I was), man who was being blinded by an affliction only men suffer from- high semen count!

I couldn't think straight. I couldn't see straight. The semen - like cancer- ravages the body and makes it's way to the brain! Woman were not innocent in this. For example, petite as I understand it means a small figure, not measured from the ground up! And-I don't know- maybe people get confused when they type and mix up children with teeth. You know, they write they have two children when in fact, they have two teeth and six children!

I'm just teasing and having fun. I have dated large woman and have had the time of my life. I have also dated woman with several children (it just so happens that I love kids). And I have dated woman who's teeth have come loose from a kiss ;-)

This is my thing though. I do a radio talk show in New York. After hanging out one night with the boys, and talking about our experiences with woman (they all seemed bad), it dawned on me. All this baggage that many woman (and men) seemed to have- the anger, the insecurity- all of it, had to come from somewhere!

That was when I had to point the finger at the boys (maybe you haven't notice yet, I keep writing BOYS) and myself! The hurt that many woman feel, came from somewhere. It came from the BOYS not wanting to become MEN!
