Undead and Uneasy by Mary Janice Davidson
Mary Janice Davidson gives the faithful readers a letter before the story begins, and prewarns that death in inevitable. Someone will have to die. Is it her best friend Jessica? It's a great way to get the readers excited for all the stuff to come. MJD gives great kudos to all the people who have been involved with the making of these novels, and really took the interest of fans, and helped answer some questions.
The usual problems with Betsy being the Queen of the Vampires are still there, but MJD presents her with probably the biggest problem of all, Betsy having to deal with the problems alone. Her devil-spawned sister Laura isn't any help, Sinclair is missing, Jessica is sick in the hospital, and Marc is AWOL. On top of everyone missing, Betsy has the care of her baby brother to deal with.
As usual, typical of selfish Betsy, it takes a lot of hijinks and the appearance of the Wyndham Werewolves to give her the slap on the face she always needs, to know that something is definitely wrong. The best is how she is oblivious of anyone else's problems, until they clash with hers! This time, Betsy has to deal with all the problems herself. It's a real eye-opener for her, and she comes to the realization that she really does rely too much on everyone else to deal with her problems, and her own stubbornness with accepting the Vampire Queen title.
