You can find trays of prepared food for your party at your local grocery store. However purchasing them can be quite expensive. By making these food trays yourself, you can save some money. Here are some ideas on how to create your party food trays.Chips and dip can make for a delicious party tray. You can place salsa, cheese dip, sour cream based dips, or even French onion dip in the middle of the tray and surround with tortilla or other dipping chips. You can make your own tortilla chips by slicing tortilla shells into wedges and baking in the oven. Homemade pita chips are another great option as well.
Offering your guests a meat tray will provide them with a filling snack. You can arrange cold cuts on a tray by folding them and then fanning them to create a circle. Or you could serve up meatballs on toothpicks for your guests to enjoy. Meatballs can also be dipped into marinara sauce or even sweet and sour sauce. You could also cut cold cuts into strips and thread them onto toothpicks to make a nice presentation.
Crackers can be topped with many different things. You can offer a tray of crackers formed into a circle along the rim with a variety of toppers in the middle. Great toppers for crackers include pepperoni, different sandwich meats cut into circles or rectangles to fit the cracker, slices of cheese, tuna salad, peanut butter and chocolate candy, etc. This is a great way to offer a variety of items for your guest all on one tray.
Guests can satisfy their sweet tooth with fruit salad on a stick. Thread strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, grapes, diced apple, diced pears, cherries, and orange slices onto wooden or metal skewers to create delicious fruit kabobs.
