Liz Claiborne: Spark Perfume for Women

I either love it or hate it when it comes to Liz Claiborne fragrances. Many perfumes from this designer either smell like my granny, or they smell like something a little spoiled princess child would wear.

When I was given a free sample of Liz Claiborne Spark, I was intrigued. The perfume itself was a stale yellow burnt orange color, and reminded me of that color cigarettes leak from their filters when they are left in a wet ash tray. I wondered what Spark
would smell like. Perhaps anAsh tray? A Cigar? My granny?

Appearance:

The bottle itself is a plain stand up bottle. It has a bit of a bulge at its sides. Its got red wispy stripes that run up on the sides of the bottle that look like ribbon floating in the wind. It's nothing gorgeous or even worthy of saving after the perfume is gone, so don't get excited. I usually save perfume bottles after the perfume is gone...Spark's bottle though is just a counter space waster.

Spark comes in a plain looking white box with a wispy red/orange ribbon, or wavy dash that runs up the side of the box. In the middle of the box 'Spark' is written, followed by Liz Claiborne underneath it. It's really a plain looking thing, and actually looks like one of those no frills dollar store brand perfume packages.

Scent:

I applied Spark to my wrists to give it the initial sniff test. The moment I applied the perfume I could smell a strong over powering smell of cherries and mulberry. It was nice, but very strong and thick.

After getting over the initial strong berry smell I then detected rose, amber and cinnamon. The overall scent was powerful, strong, but at the same time it was also a really nice warm winter scent that I actually liked. Usually I'm not a fan of yellow colored perfumes, but Spark actually impressed me.

I knew with a scent this strong, Liz Claiborne's Spark most likely would last all day and some.

Last:

My guess was correct. I smelled like musky berry heaven all day long. Spraying some Spark on to your clothing will last till you wash it. What I love about Spark is that as it begins to fade away, it starts to smell like a thick fog of cinnamon and amber. I like it, but for those who hate cinnamon, you may hate Spark.
