London, the capital city of England, knows how to make its guests feel welcome over the Christmas season. A Christmas in London will be fun and long remembered.

Through the Holiday season a selection of London outside ice rinks will be open. Nothing more Christmassy than a bit of ice skating. Both children and adults will be able to enjoy a unique ice skating experience in beautiful surroundings. There are many outside ice rinks to choose from; Canary Wharf Ice Rink, Natural History Museum Ice Rink, Tower of London Ice Rink, Kew Gardens Ice Rink, Greenwich Ice Rink, Hampton court Ice Rink, Somerset House Ice Rink, Ice Disco O2, Hampstead Heath Ice Rink and Cardinal Place Ice Rink.

Should you be looking for more than ice skating then go to The Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. Here you will be able skate on the largest outdoors ice rink in London amongst other things.

Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland is sure to be a big hit with all the family from the youngest to the oldest. Not only is there ice-skating but here you will find Santa in his Grotto, Christmas Markets (including a German Christmas market with traditional German fare), Observation wheels, and fun fair rides.

There are plenty of cafes where you can stop and warm up with a delicious cup of hot chocolate. How romantic does that sound? A spot of ice-skating with that someone special and the sipping of hot chocolate whilst watcher others skate.

Truthfully though, Christmas in London does not start until after the switching on of Regent street's Christmas lights. This year they will not be switched on by a celebrity but for the first time ever the people of London themselves will switch on the lights. How? Well, this years lights have been created to respond to shoppers movements so if you want to be part of the great switch on be there at 6pm on 20th November.

This year, in celebration of their flag ship in London the lights have been donated by Nokia.

This year Covent Garden is having no Christmas lights but the Piazza will still be festive. It will be transformed into a wintery wonderland with a food market, storytelling and entertainment.
