Denver 8 TV is much more than community access TV. It is "fully programmed and operates on a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week basis," according to Denver 8, providing information on local politics, events, culture, and more. The station also produces training videos for the city, and both the "Council Matters" program and a disability training video for local election judges won top prizes at a national competition in October. The station is available on cable television in Denver, over the Internet, and portions are broadcast over the air on local PBS station channel 12. Visit their website for more information about viewing options and programming.

Here are some programs being broadcast in November:

The Blue and You

"The Blue and You" focuses on Denver law enforcement. Detective John White hosts a program which features a ride-along in northwest Denver, colorful stories about Denver law enforcement in the past from the Denver Police Department's historian Sgt. Chris Hoag, and scenes from the award ceremony Citizens Appreciate Police.

Two meetings of the City Club of Denver will be broadcast on Denver 8 this month. The City Club focuses on providing opportunities for members and others to learn more about their city and world. On the first half of the month, First Lady of Colorado Jeannie Ritter will discuss mental health in Colorado, something she has seen as a universal issue with limited public awareness. This discussion will be on from November 1st through the 15th. From the 16th through the 30th, the former dean of the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver, Karen Newman, will speak on "restoring trust in corporate America."

During evening of 2/20/08 the excellent coverage of Denver City Council meeting re: Union Station Development and related Fast Tracks items was most informative; but puzzled by the numbers "2/19/07" on right side of screen. We hope we were not watching a year-old event. Please reply. 02/20/08
