I never ever thought about health related involving my makeup. I never knew makeup could cause cancer, cause birth defects, infertility, and a heap of other health issues.

One doesn't really think about their mascara while applying it...they just look for pretty lashes. Who would of ever thought that these pretty lashes could result in cancer. Maybelline's Volum' Express Mascara in particular could cause cancer, infertility, and harm to the immune system. Not to mention the other issues involving organs.

Honestly I never stopped to look up the ingredients in my makeup. I just figured they were in there to make my face look purdy.

While browsing the internet I came across a website that has nearly every cosmetic you could think of. On the site they tell you the risk involved. They rate products based on a 1 to 10 level. 1 being the lowest risk, and 10 being the highest when it comes to your health.

It turns out Cover Girls Fantastic Lash High Volume is a level 8 high risk mascara. I nearly threw up when I realized this was a mascara I had used many times before. 99% of all other mascaras on the market have a lower risk then this one.

Revlon's Age Defying makeup stands in at the highest risk red zone level 10.

For new parents, you definitely want to check this site out. The ingredients in some well known name brand baby powders could pose health issues for your developing baby. I urge everyone to check this site!

I'm not mentioning all of this to scare everyone, but I feel that many women who use makeup on a daily basis should know the risks involved, before applying.

Go over to www.cosmeticsdatabase.com to look up makeup that may be in your makeup case right now. No designer cosmetic is safe, so at least check out the level your cosmetics stand in at. I'd recommend getting rid of those with a 7 risk or higher.

Looking through some of the cosmetics I myself own, I am shocked to find that many of them are in high risk 7-10 levels concerning my health.

I don't even know if I can wear some of this stuff after discovering this site to be honest.

It is very important to know what we are applying on our faces. Thank you so much! What about products of Mary Kay?
