A Poem Written Because of the Story of Shangri-la and a Woman Who Resided There
For those of you not fortunate enough to have read James Hilton book LOST HORIZONS, you havemissed a wonderful read. It was also made into a classic film many years ago that moved many
people, but the book is ever so much better. It is the story of a perfect place called Shangri-la,
wh
My poem is about one such woman who lived there. The man she loved, he came and left her there.
Now she is forever seeking another, to make her Shangri-la.
SHANGRI-LA WOMAN
Her face seems calm and placid,
a smile so happy and wide,
but no one knows beneath it
the scars she hides far inside.
Her hearts been often broken
but she continues to try,
to find those lost horizon
with Shangri-la's open sky.
Where peace and tranquility reign,
a world that is turmoil free,
in deep valleys and snowy mountains,
where happiness is the key.
Eternally optimistic,
her hope and faith are alive
that a realm of tender loving
somehow, somewhere has survived.
This ageless Shangri-la woman
whom pleasures,and strife, has known
still seeking, always seeking,
her heart, a place for a home.
If you, my friends have an answer
to where Shangri-la could be
let her know, I'd be most grateful,
for she resides right here, with me.
