I think the dollar stores are great places to shop for gifts for co-workers from hell. They often have photo LPs, picture frames and stuff that does not appear "cheap". A long time ago I got a bouquet of flowers for no reason to give to a co-worker from hell, with the idea to turn an enemy into a friend. Gossip started that we were secret lesbians and the unexpected gift was a kiss and make up from the latest quarrel.

I'd be inclined to give a leg lamp ornament, the kind that resembles the lamp in A Christmas Story or something like that, leaving the recipient puzzled. :)
