Miracle Mile 5K Run/Walk in Southern California

Southern California Sports Medicine Institute presents the inaugural miracle mile 5K run/walk which will take place at The Farmers Market at the Grove (6333 W 3rd St. Los Angeles, CA) and is taking place on January 20, 2008. This year's event is a special gala kickoff and is going to benefit local schools in the community which are facing budgetary constraints.

The Miracle Mile Players are California not-for-profit corporation that provides venues for emerging artists while giving the citizens of Los Angeles innovative productions of emerging film, music and art. The Miracle Mile Players goal is to further enhance the identity of the Miracle Mile and the "quality of life for all Los Angeles citizens by providing opportunities for businesses, artists, residents, institutions, and visitors to enjoy, collaborate, and thrive." The miracle mile 5K run/walk has also been called the miracle mile walk for the hungry as it has benefited numerous charities.

The miracle mile 5K run/walk will include a number of other special and fun events that everybody in the community should be able to enjoy. Children's relay races, live entertainment, wellness/sponsorship booths, in a post run celebration of all marked the day as one to remember in the Los Angeles area.

Event entry fees vary from time to time and the sooner you register for the event the less you will need to participate. There is a $25 registration fee from now until December 31 and then from December 31 to January 19 the fee rises to $30. If you decide at the very last minute on the day of the race that you would like to come and register, the fee is $35. There is a flat fee of $10 for kids who want to race in the youth run. If you like to register you can do so in a number of different ways; you can register online at the miracle mile 5k website, you can download a registration certificate and mail it in, or you can register the day of the race.
